Boxscore

Richard Stockton (6-2-1) took to the road for its second game in less than 24 hours and came away with a 1-0 victory over St. Mary’s (MD) (4-3).

Ali Gocmez (Delran/Delran) scored the game’s only goal in the first half. The match began a mere 18 hours after Stockton walked off its home field with a 1-1 tie against The College of New Jersey on Tuesday night.

Gocmez headed home a diagonal free kick by Brian Thomsen (Brick/Msgr. Donovan) with 24:31 gone in the first stanza. The Ospreys managed just three shots on goal in the period but cashed in on one of those chances as Gocmez netted his second goal of the season.

St. Mary’s outshot Stockton 16-9 overall but Ospreys’ goalkeeper Tim Brett (Palmyra/ Palmyra) made seven saves to post his fourth shutout of the season. Brett’s counterpart Austin Brown recorded one stop for St. Mary’s.
