Boxscore

Richard Stockton (4-3-2, 0-2 NJAC) yielded one goal in each half and fell to 19th-ranked College of New Jersey (4-1, 2-0) 2-0 in an NJAC road contest.

Stockton goalkeeper Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) kept the Ospreys in the game with a career-high 12 saves but they were shut out for the third consecutive match. Stockton also saw its winless streak extended to four (0-3-1).

Annie McCarthy gave the Lions a 1-0 lead by scoring on a header off a corner kick by Allyson Anderson 18:19 into the match. Although Stockton was outshot 14-0 in the first half, Hinkle stood her ground with eight saves to keep the Ospreys within one.

The score remained 1-0 until deep into the second half before Katie Lindacher netted an insurance goal at 70:55 on a chip shot over Hinkle’s head. The sophomore keeper made four saves and Stockton booted four shots in the second half, but the end result was a 2-0 victory for #19 TCNJ.

Dailey Todd (Millville/Millville) generated Stockton’s best scoring chance on a redirection with 15:57 remaining but Lions’ goalie Cristina Gacos made the best of her three saves to keep the Ospreys off the board. Stockton’s scoreless drought reached 349 minutes since Sara Shaughnessy (Farmingdale/ Howell) hit the back of the net against Stevenson back on September 11.
