Richard Stockton (5-3) scored a pair of goals 10 minutes apart in the second half for a 2-1 victory over New Paltz (3-5). Freshman Brittany Iveson (Barnegat/Barnegat) scored her first career goal and Alicia Leadbeater (Franklinville/Delsea) also netted a goal. Megan Irving (Oaklyn/Collingswood) assisted on both tallies.

New Paltz took a 1-0 lead on a penalty corner just 5:34 into the game. Alana Costenbader scored with an assist by Alyssa Stock on the corner. Stockton nearly tied the game later in the period but Stock made a defensive save in front of a wide open net on a blast by Stockton’s Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City).

Stockton took control of the game in the second half, outshooting the Hawks 10-4. The Ospreys’ diligence paid off as Iveson poked in a loose ball only 3:31 after the break for a 1-1 tie. Irving recorded her first assist of the game on the play.

Ten minutes later, Leadbeater scored her fourth goal of the season, again with an assist from Irving, to put Stockton ahead 2-1. Leadbeater’s marker proved to be the game-winner as the Ospreys protected their lead for the 2-1 win.

Stockton goalkeeper Liz Stankiewicz (Freehold Twp./Freehold Twp.) earned the victory with four saves in each half for a total of eight stops. Antonija Pjetri finished with six saves for New Paltz.
