STOCKTON OFFENSE EXPLODES FOR 7-4 WIN

Richard Stockton (6-4, 0-3 NJAC) exploded for five goals in the first half on the way to a 7-4 victory over Manhattanville (8-2). Susie Balidemaj (Hamilton/Hamilton East) led the way with three goals.

Alicia Leadbeater (Franklinville/Delsea) added two goals and three assists. Leadbeater now has 19 points on the season, a new Stockton single season record.

The Ospreys scored early and often during the first half as Balidemaj hit the net just 3:19 into the contest. Megan Irving (Oaklyn/Collingswood) had the assist. The Valiants tied it on Kayla Meenan’s first of her two goals two minutes later. Amanda DeChent had the first of her two assists on the night.

Leadbeater and Irving scored 1:18 apart to give Stockton a 3-1 advantage. Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) assisted on both goals. White and Balidemaj topped that, scoring just 44 seconds apart to close out the first half with the Ospreys up 5-1. Leadbeater assisted on both of those goals.

The Ospreys picked right up where they left off in the second half as Leadbeater scored 54 seconds into the period on a pass from Beth LaBar (Oaklyn/Collingswood) before Meenan made it 6-2 with her second goal for Manhattanville. For LaBar, the assist was her first career point. Balidemaj completed her hat trick with an assist from Leadbeater to make it 7-2. Britney Themistocles scored two late tallies for the Valiants to set the 7-4 final score.

Stockton goalkeeper Liz Stankiewicz (Freehold Twp. /Freehold Twp) made two saves in picking up the win, before giving way to Taylor Snyder (Marlton/Cherokee) who played the final 13:40 in net for the Ospreys and made one stop. Amy Hilton kicked out five shots for Manhattanville in suffering the loss.
