STOCKTON FALLS TO KEAN 5-2

Kean University (8-3, 2-1 NJAC) scored three goals in a 13-minute span of the second half to snap a 2-2 tie and deal Richard Stockton (6-5, 0-4) a 5-2 defeat. Korri Thompson led the Cougars with three goals.

Thompson scored her first of the game with an assist by Triano 19:05 after the opening whistle. Stockton answered on a successful penalty stroke by Nancy White (Ocean City/ Ocean City) three minutes later for a 1-1 tie. Olivia Triano scored with an assist by Stephanie Soares with 4:12 left in the first half and Kean led 2-1 at the break.

The Ospreys knotted the match at 2-2 on another penalty stroke, this time by Nikki Moore (Island Hts./Central Regional) with 4:43 gone in the second half. Kean took the lead for good on a tally by Soares and the first of two straight assists by Samantha Levine. Thompson then completed her hat trick with two goals 4:53 apart. The first was assisted by Levine and the second by Julie Knodt for the 5-2 final score.

Kean goalkeeper Erin Langan earned the victory with three saves. Stockton goalie Liz Stankiewicz (Freehold Twp./Freehold Twp.) finished with seven stops for the Ospreys.
