STOCKTON EXTENDS WINNING STREAK TO FIVE

Richard Stockton (18-5) extended its winning streak to five straight matches with a 25-10, 25-22, 25-22 victory over Kean (10-16).

Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) led the Ospreys with 12 kills and Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) contributed nine kills. Stockton also won its 19th consecutive match versus an NJAC opponent.

Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/Catasauqua) and Mayan Alvarado (Gainesville, FL/P.K. Yonge) handed out 18 and 13 assists respectively. Freshman Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) paced the Stockton defense with 21 of the team’s 44 digs.

Velott slammed five kills and Alvarado served three aces as the Ospreys routed Kean 25-10 in the first set. Serekian tallied five kills in the second set to lead Stockton back from a 19-13 deficit to win 25-22. Serekian added five more kills in the third set, including three of the last five points of the match as the Ospreys fought back from a 21-20 deficit to close out the contest 25-22.
