STOCKTON WINNING STREAK HALTED BY SALISBURY

Richard Stockton (20-7) had its seven-match winning streak halted with a pair of losses to the host team at the Salisbury University Tournament. Stephanie Warner (Totowa/Passaic Valley) and Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) were named to the All-Tournament Team. 

Stockton completed round-robin play with a 25-23, 25-22, 15-25, 25-20 defeat to Salisbury that ended the Ospreys’ winning streak. Warner led Stockton with 15 kills and three blocks. Serekian tallied 11 kills and seven digs while Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) scooped 22 digs.

Based on the tournament standings, Stockton drew Salisbury again and ended up with a similar result as the Sea Gulls prevailed in four sets once more. This time, the scores were 25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 25-22 in Salisbury’s favor. Warner paced Stockton with nine kills and four blocks. Serekian and Kasey Hennecke (Fair Lawn/Fair Lawn) also slammed nine kills apiece while Gubista contributed 24 digs.
