Anthony Pira (Freehold/Freehold) scored on a volley shot with 29 seconds left in double-overtime to give Richard Stockton (9-6-2) a 3-2 upset of 21st-ranked Swarthmore (10-4). With the win, the Ospreys finished 1-1-1 during a stretch of three straight games against ranked opponents.

After Fabian Castro gave Swarthmore an early 1-0 lead, Pat Rafferty (Brick/Christian Brothers Academy) scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season on a penalty kick for a 1-1 tie.

The Ospreys needed just 47 seconds of the second half to take a 2-1 lead. Freshman Jared Ruff (Delran/Delran) scored his first career goal with an assist by fellow rookie Matt Jenne (Kinnelon/Kinnelon). Micah Rose tied the game for Swarthmore nine minutes later at the 54:31 mark and 35 minutes of scoreless play led to overtime.

The teams played 19-and-a-half more minutes without a goal and were on the verge of a tie when Pira volleyed home the game-winner to give Stockton the victory. Brian Thomsen (Brick/Msgr. Donovan) and Sal Pistone (Blackwood/Highland) assisted on the game-winner. Thomsen served a corner kick and Pistone flicked a header toward Pira.

Stockton goalie Lou Herring (Freehold/Freehold) earned the win with seven saves. The Ospreys snapped Swarthmore's 32-match unbeaten streak at home and posted their second straight double-overtime win over a ranked Garnet team. Last year, Stockton edged then #1 Swarthmore 2-1 at G. Larry James Stadium.
