STOCKTON WINS TWO OUT OF THREE AT SWARTHMORE

Richard Stockton (22-8) won two of its three matches as four teams assembled at Swarthmore for round-robin play. The Ospreys began the day by topping Scranton 25-16, 25-15, 22-25 25-12 in their only contest to go beyond the minimum three sets. 

Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) led the offense with 14 kills while Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) and Kasey Hennecke (Fair Lawn/Fair Lawn) added 12 kills apiece. Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) led the defensive effort with 25 digs and Nicole Ober (Cherry Hill/CH East) contributed 15 digs.

Stockton stumbled with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 defeat to Swarthmore. Serekian again led the Ospreys, this time with eight kills while Hennecke and Stephanie Warner (Totowa/ Passaic Valley) added six kills apiece. Gubista and Velott each finished with 12 digs.

Stockton rebounded with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-14 sweep of Susquehanna behind 14 kills from Warner and 11 apiece by Serekian and Hennecke. Ober scooped a team-high 16 digs and Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/Catasauqua) and Mayan Alvarado (Gainesville, FL/P.K. Yonge) handed out 22 and 21 assists respectively.
