GUBISTA EARNS FOURTH NJAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AWARD

Richard Stockton freshman Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/ Massapequa) was chosen NJAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week and fourth time this season. Gubista led the Ospreys with team highs of 50 digs and five service aces in three matches on Saturday.

Gubista opened play with a team-high 25 digs plus two aces and two assists in a victory over Scranton, surpassing the 20-dig mark for the 12th time this season.

The rookie libero then registered 12 digs and three aces against Swarthmore before finishing the day with 13 digs as the Ospreys swept Susquehanna to improve to 22-8 on the season.

Gubista has been one of the top freshmen in the conference this year with four NJAC Rookie of the Week awards and one NJAC Defensive Player of the Week nod to her credit. She leads the Ospreys and ranks second in the league in digs (5.19 dps). Gubista has been the team leader in digs in 29 of Stockton’s 30 matches this season.
