STOCKTON FINISHES PERFECT IN NJAC WITH 3-0 SWEEP

Richard Stockton (23-8, 7-0 NJAC) defeated Montclair State (11-16, 3-4) in straight sets 25-15, 25-14, 25-9 to finish unbeaten in conference play for the second straight year.

Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) led the Ospreys to their 20th consecutive win over an NJAC opponent with a match-high 12 kills.

Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/Catasauqua) dished 20 assists and Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/ Massapequa) scooped a team-high 10 digs. Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) contributed nine kills and seven digs for the Ospreys.

In the first set, Montclair State held a slim 11-10 lead until Stockton reeled off five straight points to ignite a 15-4 run that gave the Ospreys a 25-15 win. Velott led Stockton with four kills in the frame.

The Ospreys pulled away late again in the second set, closing with an 11-1 spurt this time to win 25-14. Nicole Ober (Cherry Hill/CH East) served three aces during the decisive run.

The third set was less dramatic as Stockton dominated from start to finish. Serekian slugged four early kills to spark the Ospreys to an 8-2 lead, and they cruised to a 25-9 rout that closed out the match.
