Stockton Players Reminisce About 2001 NCAA Championship

The 2001 Stockton Men’s Soccer Team won the NCAA Division III national championship, which is the College’s only team national title. The Ospreys set an NCAA record for victories, finishing with a 25-1-1 mark that included a 20-game winning streak and a 22-game unbeaten streak.

Stockton, coached by Jeff Haines, defeated Redlands (CA) 3-2 in the NCAA title game, which was played at Messiah College in Grantham, PA on November 24, 2001. Stockton’s road to the championship included shutout wins over Mary Washington (3-0), Rowan (1-0) and St. Lawrence (1-0) plus the elimination of Ohio Wesleyan 3-1 on penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie in the Final Four.
