WARNER & WALKER HEADLINE NJAC POSTSEASON HONOREES

Stephanie Warner
Allison Walker
Christine Velott
Laura Hausman

With junior Stephanie Warner (Totowa/Passaic Valley) leading the way, five Richard Stockton players and head coach Allison Walker received NJAC volleyball postseason honors. Warner was named the NJAC Player of the Year and Walker was voted NJAC Coach of the Year.

Warner leads the conference and NCAA Division III in hitting percentage (.466) and ranks second in the NJAC in blocks (0.84 bps) and seventh in kills (2.42 kps). This is her third consecutive NJAC First Team selection and she becomes the sixth Osprey to receive NJAC Player of the Year honors.

Walker was named NJAC Coach of the Year for the third time in her six seasons at the helm. She was selected for the top honor in 2006 and 2008 as well. Walker has led Stockton to a 23-8 record this season. Under her direction, the Ospreys have won the last three NJAC championships, and they hold the number one seed for this season’s league tournament after finishing 7-0 in conference play.

Joining Warner on the NJAC First Team were seniors Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/Catasauqua) and Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) along with sophomore Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah).

Velott earned her fourth straight all-conference selection and third consecutive berth on the NJAC First Team. The outside hitter was the NJAC Rookie of the Year and an NJAC Second Team selection in 2008. Velott ranks fourth all-time in kills and eighth in digs for Stockton.

For Hausman, this is her third straight all-conference nod but the first time that she has been selected for NJAC First Team honors. The setter was named to the NJAC Second Team in 2009 and 2010. Hausman leads the team in assists for the third consecutive season (6.44 apg), and she also ranks sixth in the NJAC in that category. This year, she moved into fifth place all-time at Stockton in career assists.

Serekian picked up her initial NJAC First Team nod after being named NJAC Rookie of the Year and NJAC Honorable Mention last season. The right-side hitter, Stockton’s team leader in kills, ranks second in the NJAC in hitting percentage (.324) and third in kills (3.21 kpg).

Sophomore Kasey Hennecke (Fair Lawn/Fair Lawn) collected an NJAC Honorable Mention spot, her first all-conference nod as an Osprey, to round out the list of Stockton honorees. Hennecke ranks third in the NJAC in hitting percentage (260) behind her teammates Warner and Serekian.
