Richard Stockton (13-6-4) played in the NJAC championship match for the fourth time in five years but fell short as College of New Jersey (12-3-2) edged the Ospreys 1-0 to deny them their first league title.

Stockton goalkeeper Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) faced heavy pressure and finished with 11 saves. TCNJ outshot Stockton 29-2 for the game and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Lions netted the only goal of the match as Brittany McGinley scored on a rebound with 20:42 gone in the first half. Hinkle made six saves in the first stanza and five more after the break to keep the Ospreys within one goal and give them a chance to come back.

Jess McQuillen (Tabernacle/Seneca) registered Stockton’s only two shots of the game, both in the second half. McQuillen nearly tied the match with just over nine minutes remaining on a shot that was labeled for the near side but was knocked away by TCNJ defender Jordan Downs. The 1-0 defeat also snapped Stockton’s nine-game unbeaten streak.
