LEAH BRAIDI SELECTED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT 2 TEAM

Richard Stockton sophomore Leah Braidi (Vineland/Sacred Heart) was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 2 Women’s Soccer Team. Braidi was an NCAA Division III First Team selection. She currently holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average in Speech Pathology at Stockton.

Braidi, who came back after missing most of last season with a knee injury, has scored two goals for the Ospreys and solidified the defense for the team this year.

Braidi has started all 23 games after starting the first 10 matches of her rookie campaign before suffering the season-ending injury. Last week, she was named NJAC All-Conference Honorable Mention. The Ospreys stand at 13-6-2 entering the ECAC Metro tournament, which begins with a home game tomorrow against St. Joseph’s-Long Island.

The Capital One Academic All-District program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The Academic All-District Teams are divided into eight geographic regions across the USA and Canada. District 2 consists of Division III schools in Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island, West Virginia and Washington D.C.

First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
