STOCKTON BLANKED 3-0 IN ECAC FINAL

Sarah Hinkle

Boxscore

Richard Stockton (15-7-4) fell short in its quest for a sixth ECAC title as top-seeded NYU (14-6) shut out the Ospreys 3-0 in the tournament championship match. Stockton goalkeeper Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) made one save for the Ospreys in the season finale.

Stockton outshot NYU 8-7 in the game but Violets’ goalie Meg Patton stopped all five shots on goal to keep the Ospreys off the scoreboard. Jess McQuillen (Tabernacle/Seneca) recorded a team-high four shots for Stockton, including three on goal.

Cami Crawford and Serra Tumay scored first-half goals for NYU and Crawford later sealed the outcome with her second of the game at the 70:35 mark. Stockton’s 15 wins this season were its most since 2008 and the Ospreys will lose only two starters to graduation in NJAC all-conference defenders Ashley Battilana (West Deptford/ West Deptford) and Melissa Eiding (Shamong/Seneca).
