The Stockton field hockey team took the early lead but yielded four second-half goals and fell to Kean 4-1 in an NJAC home game. Samantha Horner (Newfield/Buena) gave Stockton a 1-0 advantage in the first half with her second goal of the season and goalkeeper Debi O’Kane (Cologne/Absegami) made 16 saves for the Ospreys.
Horner stickhandled into the semi-circle and blasted a shot into the cage at 28:11 to give Stockton a 1-0 lead. In the second half, Kean tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at 48:04. Less than three minutes later, Stockton was awarded a penalty stroke, but the high shot by Horner was blocked. Kean scored the go-ahead goal at 54:50 and added two more tallies in the final 1:07, with the second coming on a penalty corner after time had expired for the 4-1 final score. |
