DIANDRE BROWN SCORES 1,000TH CAREER POINT

Richard Stockton senior DiAndre Brown (Sicklerville/ Camden Co. Tech) scored his 1,000th career point in Stockton’s 96-60 victory over Rutgers-Camden last night.

Brown started the game with 986 points and scored 12 markers in the first half before reaching the 1,000-point plateau with a layup four minutes into the second half. He became the 28th men’s player to score his 1,000th point in a Stockton uniform.

Brown is in his third season with the Ospreys after transferring to Stockton in 2009. The 6-3 forward began his career at Eastern Nazarene (MA), where he averaged 12.7 points per game and led the team in rebounds (6.4 rpg) and field goal percentage (.523) as a freshman.

Brown started all 28 games in his first year at Stockton, averaging 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. Last year, he improved those numbers to 9.5 points and 5.2 caroms while also finishing third in the NJAC in three-point field goal percentage (.406) and fifth in three-pointers (1.6/game).

Brown currently leads Stockton in scoring (14.4 ppg), ranking ninth in the league in that category as well as fourth in free throw percentage (.789) and 10th in three-pointers (1.5/game). The senior finished with 19 points against Rutgers-Camden to bring his total of 1,005 points in 94 games for a career scoring average of 10.7 points per game.
