WARNER & SEREKIAN HONORED BY ECAC

Stephanie Warner
Nicole Serekian

Richard Stockton junior Stephanie Warner (Totowa/ Passaic Valley) added still more postseason honors to her outstanding resume as she was named 2011 ECAC Upstate/Metro Offensive Player of the Year and voted as an ECAC First Team All-Star.

In addition, sophomore Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/ Mahwah) was named an ECAC Second Team All-Star.

Warner became the first player in Stockton history to earn a non-honorable mention All-America selection from the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association (ACVA) when she was chosen as a Second Team All-American in November.

Earlier, Warner was named All-New York Region for the second straight time. The middle hitter also was chosen NJAC Player of the Year and collected her third consecutive NJAC First Team nod after leading Stockton to its fourth straight league championship and NCAA Tournament berth.

Warner led the nation in hitting percentage (.468) and finished as the NJAC leader in the category. The junior also ended the season second in the conference in blocks (0.83 bps) and sixth in kills (2.48 kps). Warner was named NJAC Player of the Week three times in 2011.

Serekian, a right-side hitter, finished second to Warner in the NJAC in hitting percentage (.322) and led the team in kills (3.21 kpg), finishing third in the conference in that category. She was named All-New York Region and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention after the season. Serekian also was voted to the NJAC First Team after being named NJAC Rookie of the Year and NJAC Honorable Mention in 2010.
