STOCKTON POSTS TWO MORE VICTORIES, 4-0 AND 14-1

Richard Stockton (4-0) posted two more victories in Florida, shutting out SUNY Potsdam 4-0 and then pounding Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 14-1 in five innings (eight-run rule).

Freshman Brittany Ksiezopolski (Hillsborough/ Hillsborough) made an impressive college debut with a five-hit shutout against Potsdam in her first career outing.

The Ospreys manufactured four runs on just three hits for the 4-0 win. In the second inning, Jenna Kinter (Hamilton/ Nottingham) reached on an error and advanced to second on the play before coming around to score on two wild pitches for a 1-0 Stockton lead.

Stockton added two more runs in the fifth frame. Joey Afflitto (Brick/Brick) stroked an RBI single and Kinter later earned an RBI as she drew a walk with the bases loaded for a 3-0 score. Ally Roma (West Long Branch/Shore Regional) scored the final run on a wild pitch in the sixth inning. Ksiezopolski struck out four batters and did not walk any in her first career shutout.

The Ospreys took advantage of nine hits, 10 walks and five hit batsmen to rout MCLA 14-1. Rachel Forte (Vineland/Vineland) went 2-3 with a run and an RBI while Stephanie Darrow (Marlton/Cherokee) was 1-1 with two walks and three runs scored. Pitcher Heather Corica (Iselin/JKF) allowed one run on two hits with four strikeouts for the win.

Stockton jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first inning. Corica drew a bases-loaded walk and Bianca DiDolce (South Plainfield/South Plainfield) smacked an RBI single to highlight the inning. The Ospreys plated one run in the second frame and then added three tallies on just two hits in the third for an 8-1 lead.

Stockton brought the eight-run rule into effect with six more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Stockton bench got into the act as freshman Stephanie Hand (Mays Landing/ Oakcrest) ripped an RBI double and fellow rookie Marisa Ortiz (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) added an RBI single while Forte also contributed an RBI single.
