STOCKTON ROUTS IMMACULATA 27-8

Richard Stockton (3-2) snapped a brief two-game skid with a resounding 27-8 victory over Immaculata. Ten different Ospreys scored goals in the game, led Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/ North Hunterdon) with five goals and six assists.

Drew Flagler (Califon/Voorhees) and Robert Krais (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) each tallied four goals and an assist while Vinny Gencarelli (Rockaway/Morris Hills) netted four goals for the Ospreys.

Jordan Smith paced Immaculata with two goals and Tayler Acree contributed a goal and two assists for the Mighty Macs.

Wade Veselka (Chesterfield/Northern Burlington) scored two of his three goals in the first seven minutes as Stockton broke out to a quick 5-0 lead. After Bhelly Bagbonon got Immaculata on the board, the Ospreys reeled off six more goals in the last 5:30 of the first quarter, including two by Flagler, for an 11-1 lead at the end of the period.

Bologno scored two of Stockton’s eight goals in the second quarter, which gave the Ospreys a commanding 19-4 lead at the half. Five different Stockton players hit the back of the net in the third quarter as the Osprey advantage grew to 24-5 after three periods.

The teams struck for three goals apiece in the fourth quarter to make the final score 27-8. Gencarelli tallied twice for Stockton and Smith fired home two markers for Immaculata in the last stanza.

Stockton goalkeeper Tim Wolcott (Toms River/TR North) earned the victory with six saves in 45 minutes before giving way to Noah Morris (Brick/Brick Twp.) who made four stops in the fourth quarter. Immaculata goalies Jon Diodati and Max Bonhage registered eight and five saves respectively.
