Richard Stockton (9-4) capped its stay in Florida by sweeping a doubleheader from Hilbert College (NY) 10-7 and 12-0 to extend its winning streak to six. Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) led the Ospreys with two hits in each game.

McGuckin went 2-4 and scored twice in the opener. Nick Scalise (Northfield/Mainland) was 2-4 with a double and three RBI while Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) knocked a pair of doubles and scored once.

Hilbert capitalized on a few Stockton miscues to score three runs apiece in the first two innings and put the Ospreys in a 6-2 hole.

Stockton cut its deficit to 6-5 with a run in the fourth frame and two more in the fifth as Justin Gordon (Brick/Brick Memorial) stroked an RBI single and scored on an RBI double by Erik Danser (Marlton/Cherokee).

The Ospreys took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning. Scalise plated three teammates with a bases-loaded double and Gordon added another RBI single for a 9-6 score en route to the 10-7 triumph. Bill Barron (Hamilton/Steinert) earned the win in relief, allowing one run on four hits in 5.1 innings of work.

McGuckin and Mark Jankowski (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) each went 2-3 with two RBI to lead Stockton to the 12-0 rout in the nightcap. Mark Crescenzi (Penns Grove/ Penns Grove) yielded just one hit and fanned five in five scoreless innings for the win. Jason Fox (West Deptford/West Deptford) completed the combined shutout, allowing one hit and whiffing two in two innings pitched.

The Ospreys jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. Jankowski provided the key hit with a two-run single while McGuckin added an RBI single and Andy Oliver (Penns Grove/ Penns Grove) capped the onslaught with an RBI double.

Stockton tacked on five more runs in the third inning on the way to the easy 12-0 victory. Danser singled in two runs and McGuckin and Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) added RBI hits as well.
