STOCKTON DOMINATES HAVERFORD 11-2

Richard Stockton (10-4) scored 10 runs in the first three innings and dominated Haverford (7-9) 11-2 for its seventh consecutive win.

Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside) went 2-5 with a triple, home run and two RBI. Wasco extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Justin Gordon (Brick/Brick Memorial) went 2-4 with a double and three RBI while Gerard Heininger (Jackson/ Jackson Liberty) also contributed two hits and scored twice.

Gage Mick (Bridgeton/Cumberland) pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits and fanning seven for the win.

In the first inning, Gordon stroked an RBI double and Wasco blasted a two-run homer, his second long ball of the year, for a quick 3-0 Stockton lead. Haverford responded with two runs in the bottom of the first to make the score 3-2 but the Ospreys broke the game open on their next offensive turn.

Marc Asta (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) capped a six-run second inning with a single that produced two RBI and increased the Osprey advantage to 9-2. Nick Scalise (Northfield/ Mainland) and Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) also knocked RBI singles and Gordon lofted a sacrifice fly for another run during the explosion.

Gordon recorded his third RBI in as many innings with a single in the third frame for a 10-2 count. Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) doubled home a run in the top of the ninth to put the finishing touch on the 11-2 Stockton victory.
