Boxscore

Richard Stockton (4-5) was able to forge a tie after one period but Stevens (8-1) slowly pulled away and cruised to an 18-9 victory on Wednesday night. The Ducks entered play ranked #9 in NCAA Division III lacrosse.

The Ducks opened the scoring just 13 seconds in and scored the first three goals of the game before Stockton fought back.

The Ospreys tallied the next four to take a 4-3 lead on goals by Brian Santoleri (Berwyn, PA/Archbishop Carroll), Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/ North Hunterdon), Wade Veselka (Chesterfield/Northern Burlington) and Dave Soule (Kinnelon/Kinnelon).

Bologno’s second marker of the period tied the match at five apiece after one quarter of play.

That was as close as the Ospreys came as the Ducks outscored Stockton 5-1 in the second period. Rich Dupras scored three of his game-high six goals in the stanza as Stevens took a 10-6 lead at the break.

The Ducks scored six more times in the third period including three by Alex Hofrichter and two by Kevin Rose to offset a Taylor Monticelli (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) goal for Stockton. Stevens led 17-7 after three quarters and downed Stockton 18-9.

Bologno tallied three goals while Soule and Veselka added two apiece for Stockton. Soule also assisted on two goals. In addition to Dupras’ six tallies, Rose added four more and Hofrichter chipped in with three. Michael Maroon assisted on three goals while Dupras added two helpers.

Tim Wolcott (Toms River/Toms River North) made 10 saves for Stockton in the loss. Matthew Deiner made 12 saves for the win and Ben Shaffer added one stop.
