STOCKTON SLIPS PAST ROWAN 7-6 IN 10 INNINGS

Richard Stockton (16-10, 4-3 NJAC) came out on top 7-6 in 10 innings for an NJAC road victory at Rowan (18-9, 3-4).

Pinch-hitter Erik Danser (Marlton/Cherokee) singled in the winning run in the top of the 10th to give the Ospreys the lead for the fourth and final time in the game.

Mark Jankowski (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) led off the 10th inning with walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.

Jankowski advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored the go-ahead run on a clutch single by Danser. Adam Warburton (Sewell/Washington Twp.) retired the Profs in order in the bottom half to end the game.

Warburton pitched four innings in relief and allowed just one unearned run on four hits with four strikeouts for the win. Marc Asta (Jackson/Jackson Memorial), Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside) and Nick Scalise (Northfield/Mainland) stroked two hits apiece, with Asta and Wasco each contributing two RBI.

Stockton took a 2-0 lead on RBI singles by Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) in the first inning and Wasco in the third frame. McGuckin extended his hitting streak to 10 games with his single.

Rowan took the lead with three runs on three hits and a walk in the bottom of the third. The Ospreys tied the game 3-3 on another RBI single by Wasco in the top of the fifth but Rowan answered with a run in the bottom half and pulled ahead 4-3.

Stockton regained the lead at 6-4 by scoring three times in the top of the seventh. Asta singled in two runs and Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) earned an RBI with an infield hit. The Profs got one run back in the bottom of the seventh and tied the game 6-6 with a run in the bottom of the ninth that forced extra innings, where Stockton prevailed 7-6.
