KEVIN MILLER NAMED NJAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Richard Stockton junior Kevin Miller (Mays Landing/ Oakcrest) was named NJAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Delaware Open at the University of Delaware on Saturday.

Miller excelled in the two throwing events in which he competed, posting one win and one second-place finish.

Miller unleashed his best javelin throw of the season, 56.58 meters, to top a field of 20 competitors and win the event by nearly three meters over the runner-up.

The junior posted his second victory of the year in javelin and also qualified for the ECAC Championships in May.

Miller finished second out of 24 competitors in the discus with a best effort of 45.75 meters. The toss was the third-best of his career and also qualified him for the ECAC Championships, surpassing the ECAC minimum by over two meters. Miller has two victories in the discus this season to go along with his two wins in the javelin.
