Richard Stockton (21-11) swept a doubleheader from Stevens (12-16) by scores of 5-2 and 11-1 to finish with a 19-1 record in non-conference games this season.

Joey Afflitto (Brick/Brick) led the Ospreys in the first game by going 2-3 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI.

Ally Roma (West Long Branch/Shore Regional) went 2-3 with a run scored and Michelle Pietrocola (North Brunswick/North Brunswick) scattered six hits and struck out two to improve to 9-4 on the season.

Afflitto led off the game with a walk and scored on an RBI single by Katelyn Derewecki (Hillsborough/Hillsborough) two batters later for a 1-0 Stockton lead. Roma and Afflitto both singled in the fifth inning and the Ospreys scored one run on a throwing error and another on a sacrifice fly by Grace Long (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) for a 3-0 advantage.

Stevens got one run back in the bottom of the fifth but Stockton clinched the win in the seventh inning as Roma singled again and Afflitto followed with her third homer of the year for a 5-1 score. Stevens plated a run in the bottom of the seventh for the 5-2 final.

Long paced Stockton in the second game as she went 3-5 including her school-record seventh home run of the season. Stephanie Darrow (Marlton/Cherokee) was 2-5 with a triple, three runs and three RBI. Vicki DeGaetano (Hammonton/Hammonton) also contributed two hits, including her first career triple.

Long led off the second inning with her record-breaking homer to give the Ospreys a 1-0 lead before Stevens answered with the tying run in the bottom half. Stockton took the lead for good with three runs in the third frame. Darrow tripled in the first run and scored on an RBI single by Derewecki, who then came home on an RBI double by Heather Corica (Iselin/JFK).

Darrow earned an RBI and reached base on an error to kick start a three-run fourth inning that gave Stockton a 7-1 advantage. Jessica Goncalves (Union/Union) stole home on the back end of a double steal in the fifth inning to make it an 8-1 game. Stockton tacked on three more tallies in the seventh inning on DeGaetano’s RBI triple and RBI singles by Darrow and Rachel Forte (Vineland/Vineland).

Jamie Gasko (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) fanned five and allowed one run on five hits in five innings pitched for the win. Stephanie Hand (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) tossed two scoreless innings to close out the 11-1 victory.
