STOCKTON ROLLS OVER TCNJ 12-1

Richard Stockton (19-16, 7-9 NJAC) rapped out 15 hits and capitalized on seven errors by College of New Jersey (22-16, 10-6) to defeat the Lions 12-1.

Justin Gordon (Brick/Brick Memorial) led the Ospreys to victory with four hits, including a double, plus a run and an RBI.

Nick Scalise (Northfield/Mainland) and Mark Jankowski (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) each went 2-5 with a double and a run scored.

Stockton righty Gage Mick (Bridgeton/Cumberland) pitched a complete game and allowed one run on seven hits with a career-high 11 strikeouts for his team-leading fifth win of the season.

Stockton broke out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Mike Wasco (Riverside/ Riverside) blasted a two-run home run, his team-high fourth homer of the year. Travis Marra (Toms River/TR East) ripped an RBI double and then scored on an RBI single by Gordon.

The lead ballooned to 8-0 in the fourth inning. Scalise, Mike Bush (Manahawkin/Southern) and Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) each singled in a run and Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) scored on an error. After TCNJ scored once in the bottom half, Jankowski doubled and scored on an error in the fifth frame for a 9-1 advantage.

The Ospreys tacked on three unearned runs in the eighth inning for the 12-1 final score. Larro, Marra, and Wasco extended reached-base streaks to 19, 16 and 14 games respectively. Larro also pushed his current hitting streak to nine contests.
