ANDY OLIVER NAMED NJAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Richard Stockton freshman Andy Oliver (Penns Grove/Penns Grove) was named NJAC Baseball Rookie of the Week. Oliver was recognized for his performance in his final game played this season.

The catcher got the start against Mount St. Mary on May 9 in the first round of the ECAC Metro tournament and responded by going 1-3 with a walk, stolen base and a run scored in a 6-2 victory. Oliver also recorded nine putouts behind the plate.

Oliver saw action in six games during his freshman year, including four starts. The rookie went 3-7 for a .429 batting average and also registered three runs, three RBI, one double, two walks and a stolen base.

Defensively, Oliver handled 19 chances without an error for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Stockton finished with a 21-18 record after being knocked out of the ECAC tournament 3-2 by Stevens on Saturday.
