The second-seeded Stockton volleyball team was nipped by third-seeded Montclair State in five games 23-30, 30-26, 30-27, 24-30, 15-11 in an NJAC tournament semifinal match.  Amanda Burkart (Cresskill/Cresskill) paced the Ospreys with team highs of 19 kills and 22 digs.  Audrey O’Donnell (Bogota/Immaculate Heart) notched 14 kills, 16 digs and six blocks while Christine Aletras (Ridgewood/ Ridgewood) finished with 59 assists and 18 digs.

After winning the opening game 30-23, the Ospreys dropped the next two before staying alive with a 30-24 triumph in the fourth set.  Montclair jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the decisive game and later held a 12-6 advantage.  In a last-ditch effort, Stockton reeled off four consecutive points to pull within 12-10 on a kill by Nicole Williams (Williamstown/Williamstown), but Montclair scored three of the next four points to win the match and deny Stockton a fifth straight trip to the NJAC tournament final.
