The Stockton men’s basketball team shot 57 percent from the floor and defeated Staten Island 97-77 in the consolation game of the Staten Island Tournament of Heroes.  Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) led the Ospreys with game highs of 21 points and six steals while Fran Kelly (Wildwood/Wildwood Catholic) hit five three-pointers and scored a career-high 18 points.  Stockton went 10-16 (62.5%) from three-point range in the game.
 
Jon Greene (Wildwood/Wildwood) notched 18 points and 15 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.  Greene also tied his career high with six assists.  Mario Lancioni (Runnemede/Triton) added 16 points and Omar Smith (Newark/ Central) posted career-highs of 11 points and seven rebounds.  Lancioni increased his career total to 984 points, just 16 short of the 1,000-point mark. 
 
Kelly sparked the Ospreys to a 40-36 halftime lead with a team-high nine first-half points.  In the second stanza, Hubbard capped a 9-1 spurt with a three-pointer to give Stockton a 58-48 advantage with 14:11 remaining, and the Ospreys led by at least seven points for the rest of the game.  They outscored Staten Island 57-41 in the second half, led by Hubbard’s 14 points in the period, to pull away and win, 97-77.
