Stockton 58, New Jerey City 56

Stockton rallied from an 18-point deficit and snapped a three-game losing streak with a 58-56 win over New Jersey City.  Kim Herriger (Howell/Msgr. Donovan) scored the game-winning basket on a jumper with 20 seconds remaining that broke a 56-56 tie.  Kristin Sciarrillo (Edison/Edison) led the Ospreys with a career-high 14 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.  Lisa Neira (Cresskill/Cresskill) also scored 14 points while Jenn Russell (Scotch Plains/SP-Fanwood) tallied 11 points.
 
The Ospreys trailed 40-22 with 17:43 remaining and outscored NJCU 25-7 over the next 11:45 to tie the game at 47.  Sciarrillo led the rally with 10 points during the run.  The score was tied three more times before Stockton finally took its first lead of the game, 56-54, on a basket by Neira with 1:04 to play.  NJCU scored to tie the game, but Herriger swished the game-winning jumper with 20 seconds left.  NJCU missed a shot in the closing moments and Russell grabbed the rebound to clinch the 58-56 win.
 
New Jersey City began the game by hitting eight of its first 10 shots to take a 19-8 lead.  Herriger and Russell answered with consecutive baskets to get Stockton within 19-12, but NJCU broke out to a 36-18 lead at the break.  Stockton shot 0-6 from three-point range and committed 16 turnovers in the half.
