| Stockton Returns to Action at John Covert Classic | ||
The Stockton indoor track & field teams returned to action at the John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University, the first meet for the Ospreys since December 8. Competing against mostly Division I opponents, the Stockton women’s team finished eighth with 16 points and the men’s team did not score. Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) led the Ospreys by finishing third in the long jump (5.45m). Eckart also became an NCAA provisional qualifier with her performance.
Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central) placed fourth in the high jump (1.60m) and Emily Policastro (Manahawkin/Southern) finished fourth in the triple jump (10.66m). Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) was fifth in the weight throw (13.66m) for Stockton. In men’s competition, Jim Osenenko (West Creek/ Pinelands) placed 14th out of 28 competitors in the long jump (6.21m). |
