The Stockton men’s basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped with a 75-70 loss to Rowan.  Mario Lancioni (Runnemede/Triton) hit six three-pointers and tied his career high with 30 points.  Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) scored 14 points while Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and scored seven points.  The Ospreys squandered an early 17-point and committed a season-high 26 turnovers.

Lancioni drained three three-pointers in the first 1:33 as Stockton jumped out to an 11-0 lead that grew to 13-0 before Rowan finally scored its first basket four minutes into the game.  The Ospreys led by 17 points three times, with the third coming at 32-15 on a basket by Jon Greene (Wildwood/Wildwood).  From there, Stockton scored just five points in the final 5:51 of the half as Rowan pulled within eight, 37-29, at intermission.

The game tightened in the second half as Stockton and Rowan exchanged the lead nine times.  Hubbard sank a jumper followed by a three-pointer as the Ospreys regained the upper hand, 66-64, with 2:10 to play.  The final lead change of the game took place 12 second later as a Rowan three-pointer put the Profs on top for good at 67-66.  Rowan added another hoop for a 69-66 advantage and held off the Ospreys for the 75-70 final despite the performance of Lancioni, who scored 18 of Stockton’s 33 second-half points.
