Boxscore
The Stockton women’s basketball team fell to NJAC North leader William Paterson 86-56 on the road.  Despite the outcome, senior point guard Lisa Neira (Cresskill/Cresskill) provided the biggest highlight for the Ospreys by scoring her 1,000th career point.  Neira finished with a game-high 21 points to bring her career total to 1,001 markers.  Jenn Russell (Scotch Plains/SP-Fanwood) scored 17 points and Cehara Wellington (Cherry Hill/CH East) notched a career high with eight points.

Neira achieved the 1,000-point milestone by sinking a free throw with 3:34 remaining in the game.  She became the eighth Stockton women’s basketball player to score 1,000 career points.  Neira tallied her first 178 points as a freshman at NJIT prior to transferring to Stockton, where the rest have come over the past three seasons.

William Paterson jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first five minutes.  Neira scored five points as the Ospreys responded with an 11-4 run to pull within 16-11 after a layup by Alyssa Reiter (Sewell/Gloucester Catholic).  Stockton would get no closer as the Pioneers reeled off five consecutive points.  Neira finished the first half with 14 points, but the Ospreys trailed 40-23 at intermission.  Stockton could only get as close as 17 points in the second half before dropping the 86-56 decision.
