Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) scored the go-ahead basket with 42 seconds remaining to lift Stockton to a 78-75 victory over NJAC North leader William Paterson.  Mario Lancioni (Runnemede/Triton) scored a game-high 24 points and Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) tossed in 11 markers.  Kevin Brown (Neptune/Neptune) and Fran Kelly (Wildwood/Wildwood Catholic) added 10 points apiece while Jon Greene (Wildwood/Wildwood) grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.

The Ospreys trailed 73-69 with 3:10 to play before rallying with an 8-0 spurt.  After a layup by Greene and two free throws from Omar Smith (Newark/Central) to tie the game, Hubbard sank a jumper to put Stockton ahead 75-73 with 42 seconds to play.  William Paterson missed a shot, Santini Lancioni sank two free throws for a 77-73 lead, and the Ospreys prevailed 78-75.  The victory, combined with Rowan’s loss to Montclair State, allowed Stockton to clinch first place in the NJAC South.

In the first half, Kelly hit two three-pointers and Santini Lancioni added one trey during an 11-2 run that gave Stockton a 36-18 lead midway through the period.  William Paterson rallied to within 46-38 at halftime although Mario Lancioni led all players with 19 first-half points.  The Ospreys led 62-52 with 10:53 remaining in the second stanza, but they squandered that lead and trailed by four before rallying to pull out the 78-75 victory.
