Women Third, Men 15th at CTC Championships

Results
The Stockton women’s indoor track & field team finished third with 86 points and the Osprey men’s team placed 15th with 21 points in the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships at Yale University.  Stockton student-athletes won a total of five events at the meet, which included 19 teams.  Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) won the long jump (5.29m) and finished third and set a school record in the 55-meter hurdles (8.79 seconds).
 
Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) won the 5000-meter run by 34 seconds (18:51.20) and also was a member of the Stockton’s distance medley relay team that placed third (13:58.73).  Stephanie Aromando (Newton/ Kittatinny) won the weight throw (13.90m) for the Ospreys.  For the Stockton men’s team, Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/ Oakcrest) won the pole vault (4.70m) and became an NCAA provisional qualifier while Jim Karwacki (Florence/ Florence) won the mile racewalk (9:58.39).
 
The Stockton women’s team also was bolstered by three additional third-place finishes.  Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) placed third in the high jump (1.60m), Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) finished third in the pole vault (2.90m) and Kelly Rozing (Hazlet/Raritan) was third in the shot put (11.00m).
