The Stockton lacrosse team surged into the lead with five goals in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter and defeated Centenary 12-9.  Keith Bologno (Glen Gardner/ Voorhees) led the Ospreys with four goals and four assists.  Matt Bell (Jackson/Jackson) and Larry Andersen (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) scored three goals apiece and Stockton goalie Pete Marcelliano (Morristown/West Morris Mendham) registered 13 saves.

 

Jonathan Kelly (Howell/Howell) scored to cap a three-goal Stockton spurt that gave the Ospreys a 5-3 lead, but Centenary responded with a four-goal outburst that put the Cyclones ahead 7-5 at intermission.  In the third quarter, Bell netted a goal for Stockton and Centenary added one tally to keep the lead by two, 8-6.

 

Andersen and Bologno netted two goals apiece and Bell added one as Stockton exploded for five goals in the first 4:23 of the fourth quarter and roared to an 11-8 lead.  Bologno added his third tally of the period and fourth of the game for a 12-8 cushion with 4:52 remaining, and Stockton went on to the 12-9 victory.
