The Stockton lacrosse team scored five goals in the fourth quarter to distance itself from DeSales and win 9-3. Matt Bell (Jackson/Jackson) led the Ospreys with two goals and three assists. Keith Bologno (Glen Gardner/Voorhees) tallied two goals and two assists. Stockton goalie Pete Marcelliano (Morristown/West Morris Mendham) registered 14 saves in the winning effort. Bell scored twice in the first half as Stockton broke out to a 4-1 lead, but DeSales tallied the only goal of the third quarter and struck again at 12:44 of the fourth period to trim the Ospreys’ lead to just one at 4-3. Brendan McCarthy (Howell/Howell) responded with a goal for Stockton 30 seconds later that doubled the advantage to 5-3. Josh Dybus (Lyndhurst/St. Peter’s Prep) and Bologno then netted two goals apiece as Stockton pulled away for the 9-3 victory. |
