Stockton Begins Season at Occoquan Sprints

The Stockton women’s rowing team opened its 2008 season by competing at the Occoquan Sprints in Virginia. The novice four of Ceili Bachman (Lincoln, PA/Avon Grove), Melanie Whalen (Long Valley/West Morris Central), Regina Shayakhmetova (Freehold/Colts Neck) and Sara Garrison (Pittsgrove/Salem County Tech) finished third with a time of 8:43.70.

In the varsity four, the Stockton team of Tarin Stauffer (Ocean City/Ocean City), Emileah Switzer (Tinton Falls/Maranatha Christian), Michele Elberson (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) and Nicole Price (Egg Harbor/Absegami) placed fourth with a time of 8:10.57. Lauren Brown (Brigantine/Holy Spirit) was the coxswain for Stockton in both races.
