The Stockton baseball team slugged 24 hits and defeated third-ranked Kean 19-9 in the first game of an NJAC doubleheader.  The Cougars, the defending NCAA national champions, edged Stockton 12-9 in the nightcap.  Chris Discher (Cherry Hill/CH West) went 6-11 with four runs overall and Scott Fisher (Toms River/TR East) hit a home run in each game for the Ospreys.
 
Discher went 5-6 with a double to lead Stockton to the 19-9 victory in the opener.  Craig Rich (Hamilton/Steinert) went 3-5 with a triple and four RBI while Pat Goodwin (Mays Landing/Holy Spirit) was 3-6 with two doubles and three RBI.  Jeff Lundell (Henderson, NV/Kentridge (WA)) also stroked three hits and scored three runs for the Ospreys.
 
Kean took an early 4-0 lead, but Stockton pulled ahead with three runs apiece in the second and third frames for a 6-4 edge.  Rich and Discher stroked RBI singles and Nick Corrado (West Deptford/Gloucester Catholic) added an RBI double in the second inning, and Lundell added an RBI single in the third.  The Ospreys later scored seven runs in the sixth inning, with three coming on a bases-loaded triple by Rich, for a 14-5 lead on their way to the 19-9 triumph.
 
In the nightcap, Fisher went 2-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI while Goodwin also was 2-4 with a double and an RBI, but the Ospreys fell 12-9.  Fisher and Rich stroked RBI singles as part of a five-run third inning that gave Stockton a 7-4 lead, however Kean took the lead for good with six runs in the fourth frame.  The Cougars led 10-7 after the six-run outburst and went on to defeat Stockton 12-9.
