Stockton Hosts Osprey Open

Results
The Stockton outdoor track & field teams hosted over 800 competitors in the Osprey Open, the second home event for the Ospreys in three weeks.  There was no team scoring at the meet.  Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) won the 5000-meter run and set a school record (18:24.35), and Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central) won the high jump (1.62m) for Stockton.  Barden also was fifth in the javelin (27.91m), sixth in the pole vault (2.65m) and ninth in the long jump (4.80m).
 
Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) finished second in the hammer throw (44.69m) and Michele Barile (Oak Ridge/Jefferson Twp.) placed second in the 5000-meter run (19:43.41).  Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) placed second in the pole vault (2.95m) fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.05 seconds) and sixth in the javelin (27.39m).
 
Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) led the Stockton men’s team with a second-place finish in the hammer throw (43.99m).  Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) finished third in the 5000-meter run (15:48.01) and Mike Powers (Pennsville/Pennsville) placed fourth in the javelin (49.70m).  Raimundo Leach (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.10 seconds) for the Ospreys.
