Members of the Stockton track & field teams who met the minimum qualifying standards during the season competed in the ECAC Championships at Springfield College (MA) yesterday and today.  The Stockton women’s team finished 17^th out of 53 teams with 17 points.  The Stockton men’s team registered two team points at the meet.  Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) was Stockton’s top performer, placing second in the 10,000-meter run.

 

In the high jump, Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) posted a season-best and finished third (1.66m) while Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central) tied for fourth place (1.61m).  Kelly Rozing (Hazlet/Raritan) finished seventh in the discus (35.21m) for the Ospreys.  Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) earned the only points for the Stockton men’s team with a seventh-place effort in the 5000-meter run (15:09.94).  Akhtar also broke the school record in the event.

 

Also for Stockton, Shelley Gibney (Shamong/Seneca) placed 11th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.21) and Rachel Joseph (Livingston/ Livingston) tied for 12th in the pole vault (3.12m).  Gibney and Joseph joined with Laura Daniels (Cherry Hill/Cherokee) and Katelyn Reiter (Union/Union) to finish 11th in the 4x400 relay (4:08.33).
