Richard Stockton and Swarthmore played to a 0-0 tie in the Swarthmore Garnet Alumni Classic. Swarthmore outshot the Ospreys 15-7, but Stockton goalkeeper Matt Hart (Dayton/South Brunswick) made four saves to collect his second shutout in two days. The Ospreys did not allow a goal in two games at the tournament. Freshmen Brennen Fitzsimmons (Neptune/Neptune) and Sal Pistone (Blackwood/Highland) were named to the All-Tournament Team for Stockton.
The Ospreys had a great chance to win the game on a breakaway by Pat Tolomeo (Ocean City/Ocean City) in the final seconds of overtime, however his shot was turned aside by the Swarthmore goalie to preserve the 0-0 tie. Stockton played without several injured starters including 2007 NJAC Rookie of the Year Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) and 2007 NJAC All-Conference First Team defender Jon Kopytko (Berlin/Eastern). |
