Stockton Wins Greyhound Premiere Tournament | ||
Moravian boxscore / Muhlenberg boxscore Richard Stockton got its 2008 season off to a fast start by winning the Moravian Greyhound Premiere Tournament with a 4-0 record. On Friday, the Ospreys swept Ithaca 25-20, 25-9, 25-12 and Sweet Briar 25-14, 25-17, 25-15. Stockton then entered the championship bracket on Saturday and defeated Moravian 25-23, 25-15, 25-14 and Muhlenberg 25-11, 24-26, 25-20, 25-19. Audrey O’Donnell (Bogota/Immaculate Heart) and Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Velott slammed a team-high 43 kills at the tournament, including 13 apiece in the wins over Ithaca and Muhlenberg. O’Donnell totaled 41 kills and a team-high 15 blocks overall. On Saturday, O’Donnell notched five blocks against Moravian and then smacked 16 kills versus Muhlenberg. Christine Aletras (Ridgewood/ Ridgewood) registered 125 assists and 50 digs in the four wins, including 48 helpers against Muhlenberg. Velott also scooped a total of 33 digs for the Ospreys during the weekend. |
