Richard Stockton (2-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 3-0 shutout win over Gwynedd-Mercy (0-3) in a non-conference road game. Leah Pocoroba (Galloway/ Holy Spirit), Laura O’Shea (Petersburg/Ocean City) and Samantha Bean (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) scored one goal apiece for the Ospreys. Stockton goalkeeper Alex Rogers (Medford/Shawnee) did not face any shots on goal in recording her 21st career shutout.
In the first half, Pocoroba scored the only goal that Stockton would need at 19:45 with an assist by Courtney Dougherty (Ocean City/Ocean City). The Ospreys broke the game open with two more tallies in the second half. O’Shea gave Stockton some insurance with an unassisted goal at 63:25 and Bean capped the 3-0 victory with a goal assisted by Marissa Weick (Barrington/Haddon Hts.) at 76:30. Stockton outshot Gwynedd-Mercy 31-1 in the game and cruised to the 3-0 shutout. |
