Samantha Bean (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) scored two goals to lead Richard Stockton (3-1) to a 4-0 victory over Arcadia in the first round of the Drew University Fall Festival. Amanda Altman (Beachwood/Toms River South) added a goal and an assist, and Courtney Dougherty (Ocean City/Ocean City) also scored one goal. Stockton goalkeeper Alex Rogers (Medford/Shawnee) made one save for her second consecutive shutout.
Dougherty opened the scoring with an assist by Altman in the 36th minute. Bean quickly netted back-to-back goals in the 43rd and 44th minutes for a 3-0 Stockton lead. In the second half, Altman converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute for a 4-0 lead. The game was stopped shortly thereafter with 17:45 remaining due to standing water on the field, giving Stockton the 4-0 victory. |
