Richard Stockton (3-1-1) and Drew University (2-0-2) played to a 1-1 in the championship game of the Drew University Fall Festival. Leah Pocoroba (Galloway/Holy Spirit) scored the lone goal for the Ospreys to give them the lead early in the second half. Stockton outshot Drew 14-9 in the game and goalkeeper Alex Rogers (Medford/Shawnee) made four saves for the Ospreys.
After a scoreless first half, Pocoroba gave Stockton a 1-0 lead with a goal assisted by Laura O’Shea (Petersburg/Ocean City) at 59:50. Pocoroba received a long pass from O’Shea and slid the ball past the onrushing Drew goalkeeper. The Rangers answered with a goal at 74:58 and regulation ended with the score tied 1-1. Stockton’s Lindsay Roake (Neptune/Neptune) nearly scored the game-winner in the second overtime on a shot that banged off the post, and the match ended in a 1-1 tie. |
