Richard Stockton (3-1-1) had its season-opening four-game unbeaten streak snapped as Manhattanville dealt the Ospreys their first loss of the year, 1-0 in the opening round of the Manhattanville Valiant Classic. Stockton goalkeeper Matt Hart (Dayton/South Brunswick) registered three saves for the Ospreys but Manhattanville scored the only goal of the match on a 30-blast in the first half at 25:04.

Stockton outshot Manhattanville 8-7 and attempted the game's only two corner kicks, yet the Ospreys were unable get on the scoreboard. Stockton was shut out for the second time this season (0-0 tie at Swarthmore on August 30). The Ospreys once again played without 2007 NJAC Rookie of the Year Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) and NJAC All-Conference First Team defender Jon Kopytko (Berlin/Eastern) who remain hampered by injuries.
