Lou Herring

Boxscore
Richard Stockton (3-2-1) suffered its second consecutive shutout loss as the Ospreys fell to NYU (2-2-2) 2-0 in a non-league game that was played at New Jersey Institute of Technology.  Freshman goalkeeper Lou Herring (Freehold/ Freehold) made his college debut and recorded five saves for Stockton.  The Violets scored an early goal at 17:09 for a 1-0 lead, and they later added an insurance goal just 2:58 into the second half for a 2-0 advantage.

NYU outshot the Ospreys 14-10 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.  Stockton’s best scoring chance came on a penalty kick with just under 15 minutes remaining, but the shot by Ray Nelson (Toms River/TR South) sailed over the crossbar.  The Ospreys were shut out for the second consecutive game, extending their current goal drought to 210 minutes since Pat Tolomeo (Ocean City/Ocean City) scored against DeSales back on September 6.
